  • Step 3 – The DMV Work

    Once everything checks out and your application is ready:

    We prepare your file and take the required documentation to Virginia DMV channels

    Our team handles the in-person side—you don’t have to travel or stand in line

    The DMV reviews and processes the registration in line with state rules

  • Island Wide Auto Group is a car dealership that also assists with DMV services. We specialize in helping drivers switch their current state plates to Virginia plates through a streamlined process. Our clients like this option because:

    • They don’t have to bring the car to Virginia for inspection as part of our process

    • It can help them avoid some common NYC headaches like constant pull-overs, very high insurance rates, and long DMV waits

    • We work to move files quickly, with plates often able to be issued on a very short timeline when everything lines up

    Although we work closely with NYC drivers, our services are available to drivers nationwide.

  • No. You do not have to drive the car to Virginia as part of this service. The vehicle stays with you.

    • Current registration – even if it’s expired

    • Bill of sale or proof of ownership (or title, if available)

    • Front and back of your driver’s license or ID card

    • Proof of insurance for the vehicle

    • Proof of address (for example, a utility bill, bank statement, or lease)

    We may request additional documents depending on your situation, but these are the core items most clients need. Having them ready speeds things up.

  • Plates can sometimes be issued as soon as the next day once:

    • Your documents are complete and approved, and

    • Our transporter schedule lines up with DMV processing in Virginia
